St. Matthew Lutheran is a conservative orthodox, Bible-focused, Christ led church that was founded on this site in 1892 by German immigrants. The church is dual-affiliated with the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) and the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).
Our pastor is a life-long Christian who grew up in the Lutheran Church. When most people would be thinking about retirement Pr. Kris Brower finished his theological education and was ordained in our church by the head of the NALC, Bp. John Bradosky. He has fulfilled the requirements and is certified by both the NALC and the LCMC. Pr. Brower brings a rich background of international travels and life experiences to his ministry of the Word and Sacrament. (for more details, see Our Pastor page)
The church is governed by a congregation-elected council of seven, and we have a very active Women of the Church organization that performs a wide variety of functions. People here volunteer, not out of obligation or to fill an empty slot, but because they love the Lord, love one another, and simply enjoy what they do!
