Vacation Bible School
Day at Brazos Valley Maize - twenty four Sunday School kids and adults had a blast slogging through a corn field maze and a number of other activities, including milking a cow, feeding cows, feeding a group of small animals, a hay ride, shooting a corn gun, posing for pictures, and sitting around a camp fire roasting hot dogs and then having S'mores.
Everyone had a great time, and the weather was perfect!
Women of the Church! The women of the church host, sponsor, participate in, and engage in activities of various types throughout the year. They lead member, non-member, and charitable events; hold dinner programs; take day trips to interesting places; and support those in need.
On September 25, there was a presentation by Meigan Lyon on how discipleship calls us to revaluate our motivations, direction, and our relationship with God. One of the hardest lessons to learn is how to sidestep the temptation to go in your own direction and to be perfect.
Serving the Lord does not require perfect people, only those who love God.
St. Matthew and Abiding Word Lutheran Churches joined together in putting on this year's Vacation Bible School. The theme was, "Mighty Fortress" There were some 39 children participating, and everyone enjoyed the stories, songs, crafts, and games.
Quilting - Some of our quilters produce another quilt to be sent to organizations that distribute them to people who need to feel the warmth of love and caring.
Congratulations, ladies, on a job well done!
