Rev. Kris Brower
Rev. Brower attended a Missouri Synod Lutheran school through 8th grade; was very active in their youth group through high school, being elected their youth chaplain for two consecutive years. He holds AAS, BS, and MS degrees from Purdue University. A Distinguished Military Graduate, he served over 5 years as an officer in the US Air Force, serving in Thailand, Germany, Italy, and the US.
Much of his career was in industrial and corporate management, and most of that in productivity, technology and operations management. He also served a number of years in corporate executive education and consulting, was a frequent guest speaker at professional and civic organizations, and president of several professional manufacturing and engineering organizations. He was an accomplished Boy Scout leader, round table commissioner, a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, and earned his Wood Badge certificate.
Throughout his working years, he and his wife have been active Bible study teachers, youth counselors, and ministry leaders. He is an experienced Stephen Minister, dealing with life crisis ministry. He began his journey toward full time ministry in answer to God's call and the encouragement of those who knew him.
Along the way, he attended a two year Lay Ministry Academy; completed his theological education; became a pulpit supply preacher; and was ordained by the North American Lutheran Church. In addition, he completed requirements and was also certified as an ordained pastor by the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.
In support of the Brenham community, Rev. Brower is a member of the Washington County Ministerial Association, participates in the annual National Day of Prayer, is a chaplain with the Brenham Police Department, leads worship services at local nursing homes, and assists in other activities as needed. In 2019, he was called to be the Dean of the Southeast Texas Mission District of the NALC.
Using his past experiences and education, he loves working with people from various backgrounds, helping them to feel the love of Christ whatever their situation.
