We believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God, Our Lord. We believe that we are saved from our sins by God's grace alone, through faith alone, on the basis of Scripture alone and we follow the Lutheran Confessions.
St. Matthew Lutheran has a rich history that dates back over 125 years. Started by German immigrants in 1891, St. Matthew has become the center of the Sandy Hill community.
St. Matthew Lutheran is a member of the North American Lutheran Church, a church family committed to the authority of the Bible as the inspired Word of God. In keeping with the Lutheran Confessions, we believe all doctrines should and must be judged by the teaching of Scripture.
We maintain a church cemetery located on our property. The cemetery dates back to the beginning of our church and is the final resting place for many of our founders, veterans and members.
